Integrated development tool for NXP S32Z and S32E real-time processors

Software development tool vendor Tasking GmbH (Munich, Germany) presents its integrated solution for embedded development with NXP automotive processors.

The latest version v7.0 of the compiler toolchain VX Toolset for Arm and the BlueBox debug & trace with winIDEA Debugger supports NXP’s S32Z and S32E real-time processors with Arm Cortex-R52 and Cortex-M33 architectures.

The NXP S32Z and S32E processors feature split-lock Arm cores for real-time automotive applications. The S32Z processors are designed for safety processing and domain and zone control, while the S32E processors are designed for electric vehicle (xEV) controllers and smart actuation.

The VX Toolset for Arm includes an Eclipse-based C/C++ compiler, assembler, and linker as well as various integrated libraries that enable embedded software developers to generate fast and compact code. The compiler is safety certified according to several standards, including ISO 26262 up to ASIL D. Seamlessly integrated with the tool suite is BlueBox, the emulator for single and multicore debugging: It includes the test tool winIDEA for debugging and tracing complex automotive applications.

“NXP’s latest S32Z and S32E real-time processors are used across vehicles with functions enabled by increasing amounts of software,” said Carlos Prada, Director of Partner Programs for Automotive Processing at NXP. “Developers of these demanding applications will benefit from the seamless integration of the VX-Toolset for Arm, as it can take full advantage of the power of our processors with fast, high-performance code.”

Tasking will give a preview of the VX-Toolset for Arm v7.0 together with the BlueBox and the winIDEA Debugger at the NXP Connects event on June 13-14 in Santa Clara, California.
