Thalia joins Siemens digital twin marketplace for automotive

UK design migration tool developer Thalia Design Automation is joining the Siemens Cre8Ventures Digital Twin Marketplace.
The collaboration between Thalia in Wales and the Siemens Cre8Ventures Digital Twin Marketplace is focussed on simulation and predictive maintenance in automotive designs.

Thalia’s semiconductor design tools will be integrated with Siemens’ digital twin technology, enabling precise simulations and modelling of automotive components. By using digital twins, Thalia can predict the behaviour of customer semiconductor designs under various conditions, ensuring reliability and performance.

This will enable rapid prototyping of new automotive technologies, shortening development cycles and accelerating time to market. A focus on AI and machine learning with IP resuse will enhance design and IP reuse automation.

Enhanced simulation and predictive maintenance will also lead to more sustainable designs, minimizing waste and energy consumption and helping companies achieve their environmental goals.

The Thalia-Siemens collaboration aligns with the EU Chips act by strengthening the semiconductor supply chain within Europe, reducing dependence on external sources, and enhancing economic resilience.

Thalia’s Amalia platform analyzes, migrates and optimizes existing IP for new technologies and applications across analogue, mixed-signal and RF design and migration. IP houses, Tier 1 players and foundries can use the platform to reuse existing IP and diversify their product ranges quickly and cost-effectively thanks to AMALIA’s AI and ML capabilities that deliver outstanding efficiencies in the analysis, design and verification stages of IP reuse. The result is a reduction in development time of at least 40%, enabling semiconductor businesses to react quickly to changing market demands and maximize business opportunities. The platform has been validated on over 50 IPs in domains ranging from RF and Baseband to PMIC and PLL/ADC, many of which are already commercially used.
